The Principality has an average altitude of 6500 feet and boasts about 65 mountain peaks, some rising to around 10000 feet. But it is not all mountains; there are strikingly beautiful deeply wooded valleys as well, and crops grown on the arable land include potatoes, cereals and tobacco. Only one major road crosses its borders, running from France through Andorra and on into Spain, but despite this, Andorra is not isolated. It is within easy reach of Toulouse and Barcelona airports, the French railway system runs to within 5 miles of the border, and the Principality's through road is rarely blocked by snow even in the depth of winter. For those wishing to venture further afield, it's worth pointing out that the Mediterranean is only just over 80 miles to the east, where numerous small fishing villages are just waiting to be explored.
